THETFORD SELECTBOARD MINUTES

January 31, 2005

PRESENT: Mike Brown, Rick Barrows, Mark McMahon, Doug Stone-Road Foreman

Guests: John Bacon, Dave Turner

Mike Brown called meeting to order at 7:25pm.

Road Foreman's Report:

The old pull behind grader was sold for $300.00.

The used tailgate sander was sold for $500.00.

The Road Crew cell phone is no longer being used; the contract should be cancelled.

Doug S. is reviewing several sources of sand.

The Road Crew had steamed open several frozen culverts.

Doug S. noted there appears to be a problem with the Garage fax machine.

Mark McMahon indicated the computer for the Road Foreman still needs to be set up.

Doug Stone left the meeting at 7:54pm.

Noted a letter from a resident concerned with plowing of snow in covered bridges.

Question was raised concerning status of Sayre Bridge re-construction. (The VT. Historical Society needs to sign off on plans. This should occur sometime in spring).

Noted that there will be Police informational forum on February 16 &17 in the Thetford Center Community Building.

Candidate's Night will be scheduled for 2/9, 2/10, or 2/17 at 7pm in the Town Hall.

Motion to approve Union Village Bridge Alarm service agreement for January 05 - December 05 for the sum of $100. (McMahon/Barrows). Unanimous.

Approved two driveway permits.

Approved fleet permit for Roger Gosselin of Derby, Vt.

Motion to approve Check Warrant Reports:

#2.3 (general) $3485.01

#3.1 (general) $2568.22 (Brown/Barrows) Unanimous.

Motion to adjourn at 9:12 p.m. Unanimous.
